JOANINA Library
Currently considered one of the most beautiful libraries in the world, the Joanina is a must-see monument in Portugal. It was built in 1717 and is made of gold and fine wood. It is undoubtedly a unique building in the world.
Paço das ESCOLAS
The Paço das Escolas, formerly known as the Paço da Alcáçova, is the central point of the University of Coimbra. This is where you will find the historic buildings of the University, which are part of the guided tour.
Chapel of SAINT MICHAEL
Construction of the Chapel of Saint Michael began in the 16th century, and it is located in what was once a small royal oratory. Over time, several improvements were added, such as the tiling, the organ and the ceiling fresco.
CAPELOS ROOM
The former Royal Palace, home to almost all of Portugal's first dynasty of kings, represents a noble space of the University. It is currently used to hold major UC events and also to defend theses by PhD students from the most diverse areas of knowledge at the University of Coimbra.

Insightful background on Coimbra University Felipe did a great job providing history and secrets on the university. The library is a must see (only get 10 minutes). The rest of the tour showed queen and kings chambers. Great views and good information. Chapel is beautiful.
